Trainer for Global Education Project “Bridging Cultures”, Internship, Fluent in English

From the 22th of August until the 21th of October 2016 “*Bridging Cultures*” will be held at secondary schools in Berlin. After the successful implementation of the project since 2010 and upon the request of many teachers, we have decided to organize this intercultural workshop again. The two-day workshops are divided into several lessons, and deal with themes of globalisation, the SDGs and key socio-political issues of the so-called developing continents of Africa, Asia and South America.

This year special themes to be discussed in the various schools during the workshops and programme are:

- Political Systems

- Human rights

- Development Cooperation

As a trainer from the so-called developing countries you will teach in English, and talk in general about migration and globalisation. You will delve deeper into the issues mentioned above and discuss and develop together with the students solutions for the problems of your continent. In addition, the students develop innovative and creative ideas for projects and events to raise awareness among people in Berlin.

*Objectives of Bridging Cultures:**

Raising awareness for global relations and developmental problems

Promoting own social skills and commitment

Developing intercultural relations

Eliminating prejudice and racism

Improving the English language skills of students

Target group:

Pupils and students between 16 and 20 years of secondary and high schools in Berlin and Brandenburg


You will attend an orientation workshop upon arriving Berlin to support you with the contents, material and procedure of the workshop. The workshops will start on the 5th of September.

A working timetable will be presented to all trainers.

You will work with schools following the timetable and on workdays when schools are not visited, you will dedicate the working hours to support Hope Foundation staff in project related tasks.

Excellent English skills

Very good knowledge about home country and continent

Very good knowledge about the themes of globalisation, SDG’s as well as key political issues

Pleasant and friendly manner

Open-minded, flexible, disciplined and with training /teaching skills

Organizers cover your public transport in Berlin during the internship and you will receive a stypend of 800€/month to cover your living, food and leisure activities.

Trainers cover their flights/transportation to Berlin and back.
