Postdoc for Developmental Neurooncology – Pediatric Neurooncology
Our division has analyzed human primary medulloblastoma, one of the most common malignant brain tumors in children using the next generation sequencing technologies (whole genome sequencing, ChIP-seq, methylome sequencing, etc.). Based on these accumulated informative data, my group investigates molecular mechanisms underlying formation of medulloblastoma using animal models. Fascinating questions in medulloblastoma biology are what cells are their cellular origin(s) and what oncogenic impact(s) drive their tumor formation in these cells. To answer these questions, we will take advantage of germline and non-germline genetically engineered mouse models with the Cre-LoxP technology, molecular biology (e.g. the CRISPR/Cas9 technology), animal imaging, and the next generation sequencing technologies (e.g. single cell RNA-seq).
Applicants must have (within 5 years) or to be expected to receive a PhD with a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. We would be glad to receive applications from highly motivated scientists with a strong expertise in neuroscience, chromatin biology and mouse genetics. The scientist on this position is expected to work independently, but collaboratively with other lab members. An excellent communication skill for scientific discussion is indispensable.
