Job Description

Nuclear – Quality Surveillance Inspector

 

The working environment

  • Mechanical equipment and nuclear fuel supply;
  • Quality Surveillance of manufacturing and on-site installation;
  • Expertise in materials, manufacturing processes and nondestructive examination.

Your function

  • Participate in the examination and approval of the Contractor technical manufacturing file (specifications, procedures, drawings, …);
  • Conduct quality surveillance of mechanical equipment manufacturing in Contractors and Suppliers workshops (including expertise for reception of base materials, casting and forging, qualification and implementation of welding processes, non-destructive examination (NDE), destructive tests, corrosion, …);
  • Assess the conformity of the equipment fabrication to applicable codes & standards;
  • Conduct quality surveillance for the installation on-site of Nuclear safety related equipment;
  • Be responsible for the analysis and management of information related to fabrication activities, e.g. examination of non-conformity and incidents;
  • Monitor the quality assurance implemented for manufacturing and the progression of the construction according to specified time-schedule.

Qualifications

  • Engineer in mechanics and/or welding engineer with ability to understand the manufacturing and control processes used;
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing follow-up and quality inspection;
  • Knowledge in forging, welding and non destructive examination techniques;
  • Knowledge of large nuclear pressure equipment is a plus;
  • Knowledge and interest in the construction norms and standards (ASME, DIN, AFNOR, ESPN, PED, …);
  • Dynamic, organised and pro-active; autonomous in his work;
  • Ready to go abroad for short and long term missions;
  • Fluent in French or Dutch, and in English (speaking and writing);
  • Able to draft reports (analysis, synthesis, presentation).
