Part-Time Media and Communications Advisor
We are currently looking for a part-time Media & Communications Advisor to be based at our office in Brussels, as part of the EU Advocacy team. The role is offered on the basis of a 19 hour week and a fixed term contract until the end of 2017.
In this role you will undertake the Communications and Media elements of the EU Advocacy Office’s work – particularly those relating to EU policies with an external dimension affecting children. A particular focus of this will be the media and communications elements of the EU offices contribution to our Global Campaign, ‘Every Last Child’.
To be suited to this opportunity you will bring a passion for the sector, and relevant experience in Media and Communications on EU development/International Relations issues; either for an NGO or international organization. You will have a proven ability to design Communication/Media strategies and implement them effectively; excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to tailor messages to non-specialist audiences (especially through new media and mainstream EU news media).
The role offers a competitive package in the context of the sector.
We employ approximately 18,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 60 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise children’s rights and ensure their voices are heard.
We are working towards 3 breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030:
- No child dies from preventable causes before their 5th birthday;
- All children learn from a quality basic education;
- Violence against children is no longer tolerated.
