Job Description

Fundraising Coordinator

The purpose of this role is to help ensure that Eurodad obtains the necessary resources to implement its ambitious 2015-2019 Strategy, by managing Eurodad’s pipeline system, including proactively researching for new funders, working with colleagues to establish and maintaining quality funder relations, and preparing proposals and reports for funders.
The successful candidate will have experience raising funds from a wide range of institutional funders, including private foundations, national governments and multilaterals. They will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to plan, organise and implement under their own initiative. They will need to speak and write English to a very high standard.
Role Profile
A. Funders relations and pipeline management
  • Coordinate Eurodad’s fundraising pipeline management system, including developing and maintaining planning, management and evaluation systems, reporting regularly to senior management, and ensuring all Eurodad staff know and play their required roles.
  • Establish, coordinate and monitor relationships with existing funders, prospects and ‘introducers’ in order to solicit requests for proposals, and see these through to funding.
B. Donor research
  • Research and assess relevant sources of information on funders, their priorities, funding capacities, current and future trends.
  • Prepare/update and share with Eurodad Management detailed donor profiles. Contribute to the selection of priority prospects based on research.
  • Maintain a hit list of priority prospects, and ensure that colleagues are aware of key prospects they may meet, collect the information from them, and follow up.
C. Preparing proposals and reports for funders
  • Liaise with Policy and Advocacy Managers to prepare standardised concept notes in line with Advocacy strategies and work plans and usual donor requirements, to be ready to rapidly react to call for proposals.
  • Actively monitor calls for proposals from all priority funders in order to ensure good preparation and planning.
  • Ensure proposals and reports to funders are well written, including ensuring necessary inputs from colleagues. Content inputs will come from policy colleagues, and budget inputs from finance colleagues, but your job will be to ensure that the final documents sent to funders meet all their requirements, and match their objectives, whilst also representing work that Eurodad prioritises.
D. Support to other members of the team
  • Liaise with Grant Officers and Project Managers to ensure high standards of reporting to funders.
  • Contribute, as part of the Eurodad team, to building team spirit by supporting colleagues and assisting with the day to day running of the office.
