National Chapter Fundraising Support Officer - People Engagement Programme

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
A large emphasis in TI’s 5 year Strategy is to engage large numbers of people around the world in the fight against corruption. The main TI Secretariat (TI-S) contribution to the Movement realising its ambitions in this area is the implementation of the People Engagement Programme.
The People Engagement Programme is envisaged as a large-scale initiative which will operate throughout much of the TI Movement. The programme aims to:
â– Increase public understanding of, support for and engagement in the fight against corruption
â– Assist victims and witnesses of corruption to articulate and find solutions to their grievances
â– Improve social programmes and services as a result of citizen demand and engagement
A critical aspect of successful programme delivery will be the ability of National Chapters to raise their own funds directly (at national or regional level) for implementation. This position is being created to support this effort.
The position holder will have a real and concrete opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the fight against corruption around the world.
Main function: The National Chapter Fundraising Officer will help Chapters to raise their own funds for the implementation of the People Engagement Programme.
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: Limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension

Responsibilities:
■Identify and communicate in a timely manner potential funding opportunities on People Engagement areas in the fight against corruption – traditional and non-traditional – to National Chapters
â– In cooperation with the Resource Development Department and Regional Departments, support Chapters to develop and submit high quality funding proposals related to People Engagement and to liaise with donors, as required, to secure such funding
â– Develop, maintain and continuously improve standard tools and resources (e.g. templates, standard proposal templates, checklists, guides, statistics, stories, budget templates, log-frames) which Chapters can use effectively to fundraise on issues related to People Engagement
â– Develop and maintain a roster of consultants to assist Chapters and Networks to raise funds in People Engagement areas
â– Develop and maintain external fundraising/ communication materials focused on areas related to People Engagement
â– Support (and lead as may be required) the development of global funding proposals on People Engagement
Knowledge, experience and skills:
Required
â– Undergraduate university degree or professional qualification in social science, public policy or administration, business administration, journalism, economics, management, or another relevant field
â– 3+ years of relevant experience with a NGO or International Organisation, with a demonstrated knowledge and successful track record of fundraising in a related area (e.g. good governance, public sector reforms, social development, international development)
â– Strong track-record of delivering results
â– Excellent communication and writing skills in English
â– Strong organisational skills
â– Basic people management and leadership skills
â– Team working and intercultural skills
â– Highly IT literate
■• Ability to work on multiple tasks under time pressure and tight deadlines
Desired
â– Fluency (spoken and written) in French, Spanish and/or Arabic
â– Knowledge of and experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, financial management and administration.
â– Knowledge of anti-corruption issues
â– Experience in knowledge management, organisational / capacity development
TI Secretariat reserves the right to appoint to another staff level subject to education and qualifications.
